Bun in the Oven: Bump Update {Week 35}

This past week has been jam packed with all kind of fun things. For starters, we got to see itty bitty again. It is always fun seeing our little mini and even though I'm not sure what I am looking at I love that I can see the baby. My fluid level was great and the baby is in the 80th percentile. She measured the stomach and said the stomach was also in the 80th percentile and that we had a little chunk :) She estimated that the baby was around 6 lbs and that everything looked great. I am always nervous when we go to an appointment because of the things we have had to do so far in the pregnancy (which I know people have more major complications than we do) but I still feel a lot of pressure since I am the one carrying our child. I saw the baby yawn on the screen which was really fun to see, it happened really quick so Kyle missed it.

The babies due date is exactly one month away! Everyone keeps asking if we're ready and my response is no and Kyle's is yes :) I think once the room is complete and we have a couple more items that I think we will need for when the baby arrives I will feel more "ready". Right now I am okay with the baby not coming since I want them to continue to grow so that they are healthy. I have been feeling more emotional lately and working at a hospital has not been helping with this. When I see a little kid or hear them call for their mommy I just melt, it makes my little heart want to burst that I will one day get to hear those sweet words.

I am feeling pretty good but from my knees down it still looks really bad. My compression tights make my legs feel good but they do not change how my feet look. They are still really swelled and I am still rocking the kankles. My hands also feel really tight and for some reason my right wrist has been hurting when I move it a certain way.

Like I mentioned we had lots of fun things going on this weekend. Friday night I went to see Tammy Trent at my church with Carrie, Connie, and my mom. I had never heard of her before so I was not sure what it was going to be but it was really great. She is a awesome singer and her testimony about trusting God even through some really hard things was truly amazing. Saturday we got to see our nephew Jeremy play his first t-ball game of the season and then we headed off to a wedding at Ault Park. I love dressing up and a lot of our friends were at the wedding so it was a great time :) Sunday Baby C had another adorable shower. We are so thankful to have such great families that love our little one so much :)

Baby Crofford's First Shower

Baby Crofford had their first shower this weekend. My friends Ashley and Leah came up from Lexington to join in the festivities and I was so excited to catch up with them. My friends Brittany and Tiffiany threw the shower for me and they did such a great job!! No detail was left out and it was a precious Jungle themed showered with pinterest ideas all over :) My friends did such a great job with making me and the babe feel extra special! I had such a great time getting to catch up with friends I do not get to all that often and it was really nice that everyone had someone to talk to. I loved that everyone could start up conversations with new people and by the end of the party everyone was chit chatting away. My friends crack me up so it we had lots of laughs and I beyond thankful for all of their friendships.

The food was great!

Precious!

O how Ashley cracks me up! Her gift was in a big babies r us bag and she forgot that she had threw some other stuff in the bag. You can see towards the bottom of the photo Ashley had a pile of papers (including her tax return) that she left in the bag lol

Ashley really had us all laughing when she told me about the second gift that she was giving me. It is the below hooded towel. She said she found it at her condo and was not sure who it belongs to (since their are no little kids in her family) so she decided to give it to me. We all laughed really hard at Ashley telling us about the gift. Leah politely told Ashley that she really did not need to tell us that she had it laying around her condo :) My friends are so funny!

The precious pinterest inspired gifts. Each guess signed the onesie in the middle (I'm going to take this to my other showers and to the hospital for people to sign) and also you signed your name on the silhouette you thought the baby is. Loved how creative and thoughtful my friends are!

I am really excited about the child's bible! I have heard that is really does help children understand the bible in an easy way. One of my other friends got me a baby book to record all the fun memories throughout our little ones life. I was just talking to Carrie about this so I am really glad someone bought it for me :)

Baby things are the cutest!

So blessed that these women are in Baby Crofford's life!

Bun in the Oven: Bump Updates {Weeks 27-34}

27 Weeks

We took an all day labor and delivery class. Kyle and I both thought the class was good. I was able to get a more accurate picture of what labor is going to be like and the first month with the baby. I feel a little more "prepared" for what is going to happen but am just going to see what happens when the day comes for Baby C to arrive. It was hard for me to watch the birthing videos because all I wanted to do was laugh. I know I will be in extreme pain and that I will not be in my finest moment and that "my stuff" will be for anyone to see but I cannot watch other women going through it. Their faces, the noises, I know they were not putting on a show but it was really hard for me to watch without cracking up. We did learn some breathing techniques and ways to cope with the contractions. I am not against getting an epidural at all but from taking the class it seems tricky to know when to get it. You don't want to get it too soon because if you stop progressing you can't walk around or get on a workout ball since your legs are numb and I feel like it I get it during the transition stage that might be too late because it makes it seems like pushing is next and once you push the baby comes pretty quickly. There are lots of things to think about but when that day comes we will just see what happens.

I am still stuffed up which makes it really hard to breathe at night. I have been snoring really loud but I can't help it since I can't breathe out of my nose. My tops of my feet and ankles are still really swollen. They don't really hurt but my shoes are tighter now and my ankles look really weird. Feeling the baby move is still one of my favorite things but it is not fun when Kyle decides to poke at my stomach when we are laying down to go to bed and the baby starts kicking so I can't sleep. O Kyle, your days of not being able to sleep will be here before he knows it :)

28 Weeks {Hello Third Trimester}

Hooray, we are officially in the third trimester now! It really has gone pretty fast to get here and it's hard to believe that June will be here before we know it. We had a doctors appointment on Friday and the babies heart rate was in the high 150s and they said everything was measuring good. In two weeks we go for another appointment and ultrasound. Since we had a "scare" with the fluid level I asked if we could do another ultrasound and they said doing one later in the pregnancy will help them to know that everything is on track :) I asked the doctor about my swelling feet, my nose bleeds I had the past few days, and if there was anything I could take to get being stuffed up. She said my swelling and nose bleeds were typical and nothing for me to worry about. I had made a list of things that needed to get done before the baby came (take a hospital tour, find a pediatrician, take a birthing class, do my FML, register) and all of those things are finished except I will need to add the baby to my insurance but I can't do that until they arrive.

Kyle and I are both excited for Baby Crofford to arrive!

29 Weeks

Itty bitty you have been moving around and mommy has been feeling you kick. I decided to go to a c- section class just in case that is the road we have to take in delivery. It was part of our birthing class we took so I figured it would not hurt to spend a couple hours of my time learning. I went solo (by choice) and was the only person there without someone, I looked like a single mom (at least  I did not have my braces or I would have looked like a teen mom). The instructor accidentally skipped over me when we were introducing ourselves so I joked that she was segregating against single moms. It was really informative and I am really glad that I went. The more I learn about contractions and labor the more I feel like it is going to be a marathon of contractions for hours until the baby arrives. Aunt Sarah and I made a cake for march madness, one day you will know what this is and how much your daddy loves it. My ankles are still swelling and do not look like themselves. They do not hurt but are not really comfortable in my shoes.

Pinterest inspired March Madness cake

30 Weeks

Itty bitty we got to see you again. We had an ultrasound to measure the fluid and it was 12 which is in the normal range. We also got to see you hiccup, which was really cool! There are all kind of new things we experience when we see you on an ultrasound. It is pretty incredible all the things you can see. The ultrasound tech did point out a couple other things and neither Kyle and I could really tell what we were looking at :)  The heart rate was 140 and your daddy is convinced now that you are a boy but we will find out soon enough. I also went to a breast feeding class that was part of our child birthing class and I got a lot of information out of it. Working at Children's there are also many resources here that can help me with breast feeding. Everyday I work at Children's I am thankful that I am not working at my other job. Working closer to home, having flexibility for doctor's appointments, more opportunities to grow, etc. I really do not take for granted the awesome opportunities that I have here.

This week I also took a quick trip to Lexington to see Ashley. I usually see Ashley and Leah when I go to Lexington but Leah was in Cali (I want to be in Cali). Lexington always feels like a home away from home and I love that I can go somewhere not far away to hang out with friends and recharge a little bit. We did a little shopping and had lunch, it was really laid back which was great for both of us. It was also Easter this weekend. I went to church at our regular place and then also went with my Mom to her church. My dad came to church too which was really nice. After church we went to the Crofford's for dinner. Dinner was delicious, as always, and it was great to be with everyone. I decided to spice it up and make this dessert, it did not turn out like the picture but it was still pretty good. I joked that we probably needed some ice cream to go with the dessert since it did not look the best, it will probably not be a dessert that makes it in the rotation again :) The dogs enjoyed a Easter egg hunt and then Caleb and Kendall also looked for eggs. Next year little one will get to join in the hunt!

Time is going by really quickly. I am trying to have my same patient/laid back (most of the time) attitude about our little ones arrival. I don't want to become really anxious or mean about things not being done or not really feeling like "I'm ready".

Mommy and Daddy cannot wait to meet you little one :)

31 Weeks

Itty bitty your due date it less than two months away!! Time is going by quickly and it is about to become more real very soon, not that it hasn't since I can feel you move but it is crazy to think that we will meet you soon. I have been very thankful that I did not get sick during my pregnancy but this week it happened. I made a birds eye freezer meal (like I have had before) and after I ate it I did not feel very good. I went out for a couple hours and on the way home I had to warn my friend that I might get sick in her car. I cannot remember the last time I had gotten sick but I had this feeling that it was going to happen. I luckily made it to my house and did not have the embarrassment of my friend seeing me get sick. I walked in the door and the smell of the meal was still lingering and that was enough to set me over the edge lol I instantly got sick and got sick a few more times after that. I felt better each time but I felt bad for our baby since it probably felt like a roller coaster in my belly. I did not get that much sleep that night but decided to go to work to see if I could make it. I left work a couple hours early and came home and slept. I think sleeping all day and night was what my body needed. Kyle was getting ready to start a 48hr shift so Connie brought over some Chicken Noodle soup which was great and my mom stayed the night to let Bentley out so I could sleep. I am very thankful for our family and that they are willing to help us out. I think that the food is what made me sick but Kyle thinks I had a 24hr stomach bug. Either way I am staying away from those meals forever and taking it easy (not eating things that could upset my stomach) so that my stomach can get back to normal.

Baby C you went to your first Reds game of the season but hopefully it won't be your last. We got free tickets from "Uncle" Petey which was great and it was really fun to be down at the ball park. I love going to Reds games and hope to get a few more in before you make your arrival :) You also experienced your first Ducks Unlimited Banquet but do not worry it will not be your last if Grandpa Jackson has anything to say about it.

Besides getting sick my ankles are still really big, I'm not sure they can be classified as ankles anymore. The tops of my feet are also swelling so from my knees down I look like a hot mess. Now that the weather is getting warmer I am able to show the bump off. I am getting lots of compliments about how the baby is growing and how cute I look. It is also getting harder for me to bend down and I stretched the other day and it felt good after I did it but while I was doing it my body was wondering what  was going on since I had not done it for so long :)

Kyle and I had a really good talk this week. One of the things that we talk a lot about is our time. My love language is quality time so when we don't see each other (for many different reasons) or the time we are spending together is watching tv not talking does not make me feel like I am important in his life (which is not what he intends). So it makes it hard for me to be okay when Kyle wants to go hang out with his friends late at night since I feel like I am always the one sitting at home. Our friends are in different places of their lives which also makes it hard. The majority of Kyle's friends are not married, not dating, and do not have kids (they are commitment free besides all working full time). While my friends are the complete opposite, they are mostly married, working full time, with at least one child. Kyle feel like he is punished for having friends that are always available and want to do stuff where my friends do not hang out all the time. I was really concerned that I was going to feel like a single parent with our little one. We both will be working full time but right now Kyle gets lots of opportunities to do stuff on the weekends or late at night and I did not want to feel like I was the one always home with the baby. Kyle and I had talked about how our lives were going to change when we found out about the baby but I guess since everything had been the same (and I forgot some of the important things Kyle had mentioned) I felt overwhelmed with being the only one taking care of our baby when I also would have things that I wanted to do. Kyle was really great as I cried (of course) and told him my concerns about this and being overwhelmed about the baby coming and not sure what to do. Kyle is SUPER excited to be a dad and knows that he will need to be home more and can't wait for our baby to get here. After our chit chat I felt a lot better about things. It is always good to know we are on the same page about things and though I am not the best at communicating how I feel (until it gets too much, I tend to hold it in) Kyle is always great about listening and hearing where I'm coming from. I always want us to feel like we are on the same team and that we can get through anything.

32 Weeks

This week I went to the doctor and the heart beat was 134. My mom and Connie came with me since Kyle has been working a lot. I mentioned to the doctor my swollen ankles and feet and she told me to quit wearing my ballet flats (since they have no support) and to get compression tights. I went to the store to get the tights and was not thrilled that they were in the same isle as depend diapers and canes. Sometime being pregnant makes me feel like an old women, I am forgetful, I pee all the time, and now I have tights that are supposed to be worn by my grandma. Even though my ankles and tops of my feet still swell the tights are working. Connie and Carrie also had some dress shoes and gym shoes for me to borrow which I'm very thankful for because my flat shoes were not fitting anymore and were very uncomfortable. We had a jam packed weekend with lots of fun events like leader appreciation dinner, an auction, wedding, and women's group. Being pregnant people feel free to discuss how I look at free range I feel. I get comments on how "they feel like I have been pregnant for so long" to "asking if I'm sure my due date is June since I don't look that big". I take everyones comments with a smile and so far no one has said anything too harsh or I feel really rude. I know people do not intent for their comments to be mean but sometimes that is how they are interpreted.

A really funny thing happened on Sunday when I was at my women's group. The meeting was at my friend Ashley's new house and she has only been there for six months or so. I sat down in her dining room chair and it broke. One side caved in and luckily I was holding on to the edge of the chair so I did not fall down to the floor. We were all laughing so hard we were crying. I was joking that people are telling me how good I look and that they can't tell where all the weight is going but obviously the chair did not think it could support my pregnant self. I was really concerned that I had just broke a new piece of furniture in her house but Ashley told me they had it for like five years. We all had a really great laugh and I was glad that I did not ruin any new furniture :) This story will not be forgotten and I'm sure my face was priceless.

I am still feeling pretty big and bending down is not the same. I also find myself resting my arms on my shelf aka the bump a lot. It is also getting harder to get up from laying down but I will survive :)

34 Weeks

Since I am swelling more than a normal person at this stage of pregnancy the doctors want to monitor it so they are having me come every week to the doctor. They want to monitor it so it does not become pre eclampsia. I have a friend who works at the doctor and she mentioned to me that she thought that I said my due date was in June but it is really in May. I was surprised because after we got the ultrasound at 9 Weeks they told me my due date was June 4th but I guess they were going with my original due date of May 29th and since we had never talked about it again I just assumed June 4th was the correct date. So there will be no 33 Weeks to document because it is too confusing to go back and change all the weeks {I should have known I was going to have the weeks wrong, I'm so bad at math :)}Knowing my due date is a week earlier I think to some women would thrill them but to me it makes me nervous/anxious since I don't feel like I'm "ready" (which I am not sure if that will ever happen). We have alot of the showers in the next few weeks so after that I will probably feel better about the baby coming.

My old lady stockings are really helping the swelling in my feet and the shoes I have borrowed make it easier to walk since they give me more support and room than my other shoes. Something that is not so fun is that I have been farting a lot. It is really embarrassing and I hate that it is happening so often. I feel like I can't go anywhere without having to worry about letting one slip and of course they are always loud never the silent type. Something else new this week is that my hands have felt really type when I wake up and it is hard for me to close my fist. I'm not sure why this is happening but it is not really fun.

Celebrating Emery Lee

When your friend finds out her second child is going to be an itty bitty girl the only natural thing to do is to throw her a shower and give her lots of cute girly clothes. I had a great time surprising Ashley, making gifts for Emery, and catching up with friends :)

We made Emery some hair accessories

Two friends with birthdays a month a part, having babies a month a part :)

Bun in the Over: Bump Updates {Weeks 23-26}

Week 23

movement: itty bitty has been kicking more frequently. It is reassuring to me that when the baby is kicking that they are okay and are moving around. It may not always be at a good time (when I’m trying to sleep) but I will take it.

momma developments: Leg cramps come and go. I am starting to get a line down my stomach which is new and different.

maternity clothes: I was discouraged a few weeks ago because my normal shirts were not fitting right anymore but maternity shirts also did not look good either (I guess since the bump is not big yet). I honestly thought for the next four months I was going to be in clothes that looked too tight or too baggy and it made me really sad. Carrie had given me some great things to wear but I needed some more shirts to wear to work and we have a couple weddings to go to so I also wanted so find something for those. I wanted things that were inexpensive but also looked good; I found exactly that at Clothes Mentor! It has dressy clothes that you would wear out on the town or to work but also have a great maternity section. All of their clothes are name brands and in great shape. For example, I was able to get three shirts that were from Target’s maternity brand for $5.00 each! I also found two dresses for $14 each. Needless to say I was so excited about my find and am really excited that I will have more clothes to wear

cravings: red grapes! Other than that no. I think I want something (like Chinese, which I don't even like) but after I eat it I feel gross and it does not settle well. No strange or weird cravings, red grapes will have to do for now.

anything hard? Thinking about when itty bitty arrives. I think sometimes I get overwhelmed with thinking about the responsibility of taking care of a little one and not sure what I should do. I know it will come to me but I also care too much about what people think and I can see me having a moment when the baby is wailing and nothing will soothe them and feeling like everyone is “judging” me. I know this may seem silly but it’s just something that I think about.

never forget: Seeing you move for the first time! It was one of the most precious/craziest things I have experienced so far in the pregnancy. I have been feeling you kick when I put my hand on my stomach but as I was watching my stomach I saw you do some major kicks and then my stomach moved. Your daddy also felt you kick for the first time. It has been hard for him to feel you kick since you will either stop doing it when he puts his hand on my stomach or he is not at home when you’re kicking.

Week 24

On Valentine’s day we got to see itty bitty. Both my mom and Connie came to the ultrasound since Kyle had to work. It was so much fun to see you and to hear your grandmas gushing all over you. The tech was able to see your kidney and bladder which they could not see before. The baby’s heart rate was in the 140’s. I had told the tech that we did not want to know the gender but your grandmas were hoping the tech would slip up and say. After the ultrasound I had a regular appointment. I told my mom and Connie they did not have to stay since all our previous appointments they would check the heartbeat, ask me if we had any questions and that was it. This appointment was different. They told me the babies fluid is 9.55 which is a little below the national average which is 9.8-21.9 for this stage in the pregnancy. When we had the ultrasound the baby was in the same spot as before (20 Weeks) so they are making sure that it is getting enough fluid by making me come back on Monday for another ultrasound. If the baby is not getting enough fluid I may have to go on bed rest. They also said the baby’s stomach is a little smaller than the national average but they are not really concerned about this since Kyle and I are both thinner. I held it together when I was at the office but when I got in the car I could not keep it together. It was overwhelming to hear everything by myself and I'm trying to explain it to Kyle but I'm sure I am missing details. Kyle was really reassuring that everything was going to be okay but it's really hard when you’re the one carrying the baby. Kyle called the doctor’s office because he wanted to know all the facts and I could not remember them all. He called me back and said that they just want to make sure everything is okay and maybe our baby will always be low on fluid. He was glad that the kidneys are working well and I feel like Kyle can handle medical things better than me because of his job. The doctor told me to drink lots of water and that was all I did over the weekend. I drank so much my ankles swelled and I was peeing more than I usually do. On Monday Kyle and I went back to the doctor and the ultrasound was really good! The fluid level was 19.8 the ultrasound tech said the baby was moving more and even though it was in the same spot she was seeing it move so she knew it was not stuck there. Also, with the level going up so high they knew the baby was peeing correctly and that there was not a leak in the placenta. It was an answered prayer and I am very thankful that everything is going okay with our baby. We have a great group of friends and family that were praying for our baby to be okay and I am truly thankful for each of them.

Week 25

This week was filled with drinking lots of water. I don't want to have the same scare like I did before so I have been making sure I am drinking enough water. As a result of drinking so much water my ankles have swelled like no other. I no longer have ankles but kankles but it is a small price to pay to make sure the baby has enough water. Kyle surprised me by buying the dresser I saw off pinterest. I absolutely love it! The pinner had put it together from Ikea and I was not sure if it was going to work but after Kyle was able to look at it and realize that we could make it work we knew it would be the one we would purchase :) The room is coming together and I couldn't be more excited! We also had campaigner weekend. We had six girls go and I am so thankful for their hearts. It was not the best of situations, Friday night we slept in the lobby, but they had such great attitudes about everything and were able to see God even in a bad situation. I am so thankful for their hearts and how they desire to grow closer to God. It is really encouraging and spurs me on to see how faithful they are and that they are really seeing God move in their lives. We also scheduled a child birthing class for March and made sure that our registry had most of the things on it. I also have not felt 100% the past few days. I did not have a fever but I have been congested and an awful cough. I am hoping that it goes away soon and I can start to breathe when I sleep :)

Notice anything different? My braces are off, hooray for no longer looking 16 and pregnant

Inspiration came from here. I can't wait to fill this dresser with baby things and to get storage baskets.

The crib with cute bedding we got from Target

Week 26

This week I had another doctor’s appt. I had to be tested for gestational diabetes and had to drink an orange drink that tasted alright at first but the more I drank it got worse and worse. I also had my finger pricked to see what my iron count is. Anything under 11 you are supposed to take an iron vitamin so since my number was 10.7 they gave me a prescription to take iron pills. They don’t taste the best and my doctor said if it makes me feel gross that I can eat more red meat or green vegetables and that will be good since my level is not too below the average. When I met with the doctor I asked her if she thought I should get another ultrasound since the fluid level was low and then normal our past two ultrasounds. She said at 32 weeks we will get another ultrasound but did not think it was necessary to get another one as long as I am measuring correctly.

I feel a lot of pressure on myself since I am the one carrying the baby. With passing out early in my pregnancy, having the scare with the fluid level and now having to take iron pills there is a lot more to being pregnant than I ever realized. I know that my journey so far has not been as risky as many other women but it has truly been an eye opening experience.  My friend Ashley and I always talk about this but I’m not sure how women have lots of babies (birth 5 or more kids). It seems like a lot on your body and the emotional part of the journey is just as hard if not harder than the physical part. I am very thankful that we have not had any major things happen with the baby.

This week Kyle and I went on a date :) Kyle and I do not always see each other every night and we do have a lot of things we do together, like spend time with our families, YL, etc. but it is nice when we can be together just the two of us and talk about things other than what our schedules are like, groceries, what’s for dinner, who is going to let Bentley out, etc. I love any excuse to dress up, go somewhere new, and spend time with Kyle. I had my friend Kelly curl my hair for our special occasion since it is so long and I will be cutting it soon. Kyle and I both liked my hair curly and I did not feel like a little girl with it being curled. I told Kyle we were celebrating me getting my braces off and being able to eat food without it getting caught in my teeth :) My love language is quality time so being able to spend time alone with Kyle is something that I truly enjoy since it does not come that often. I sometimes get my feelings hurt when Kyle gets excited about an event he has planned with his friends but then does not care about any of the details of what we are doing (he asked me at least 5 times where we were going to dinner). I am working on trying to not take it personal since Kyle is not intentionally trying to make it seem like he does not want to hang out with me I just take it that way since I put a lot of emphasis on these things.

Bun in the Over: Bump Updates {Weeks 7-22}

Since Week 7 I kept a little journal of what has been happening with our mini. Some weeks are more eventful while over weeks nothing new really happened. I am glad I will have this to look back on. (Disclaimer: not sure why blogger is making my wording look weird and really spaced out)

Week 7

This week has been filled with our first doctor visit and feeling icky. Kyle and I headed to our first doctor appointment on October 9th. They took some blood, took my vitals, and then I met with the nurse practitioner who gave me lots of papers and went over some basics with me. It was also the first time I went for a visit and meet with a women who talked to us about insurance and paying for our bills. They also gave me a due date of May 29th which seemed pretty surreal, Kyle and I were thinking our little mini would be coming in late June. Overall I felt pretty good about our first visit and really like the office I go to.
Like I mentioned Week 7 I have felt pretty bad. Food does not seem good even though I am still making sure I am eating every meal and snacking. I have this constant feeling that I am sick and my smells are so intense. I also got the flu shot (which I had never gotten before) and I'm not sure if that added to my icky feeling but that is what I have been telling people :). Saturday morning we did have a scary moment happen to us. I guess my heart rate went up too fast and I literally passed out. Luckily Kyle was home and he knows how to handle those situations but he said I was out for about 15 seconds. I have never actually passed out before I have only ever had blurry vision and could not see but was always conscience and they are usually heat related. Passing out really scared both Kyle and I but I am really glad I have such a caring and compassionate husband. We got lunch after the cross country meet and talked about real things like what if the baby is not okay, how I feel a lot of pressure since I'm the one that carries the baby. I'm so glad Kyle and I are on the same page, we have never had to talk about these things before so it's good to know he is always supporting me. Sunday I still felt pretty bad so we went to the store together. I had to go out to the car half way through because I felt too weak to walk around. Kyle joked I just wanted to get out of grocery shopping :). I am praying that I will start to feel better and have more energy, it is going to be hard to keep making excuses to our family about why I'm sick.

My doctor office

Week 8

Let's just say food and I are not friends. I have never had a problem eating and I usually get an awful headache when I don't eat. I have never been the type to skip meals or forget to eat. But lately food and I have not been friends. I will eat because I am hungry but then what I eat does not seem appealing anymore. What's even worse is I will really be looking forward to eating a certain dish but then it will not seem good when I am eating it. Also after I eat I feel not good at all, it seems like I am constantly laying down after I eat because my stomach hurts. Energy wise I have been feeling okay but I want to sleep a lot because I do not feel very good. I still have not gotten sick which I am super thankful for but I have been burping a lot which is not very lady like. My smells are also very intense right now. Everything smells so strong and it is really hard for it to not smell so crazy.

Week 9

Little one week 9 was filled with excitement. We had a doctors appt on October 26th and got to see you for the very first time! We had a vaginal ultra sound where we got to see light on the screen showing your heart rate which was 140. I'm not really sure what I thought this appt was going to be like but it was a lot of fun seeing you. I even teared up a little seeing you on the screen and thinking how surreal it is that you are inside me. I'm still not feeling great but some parts of the day are better than others. Also, based on the ultrasound they changed my due date to June 4th. We asked the doctor if we could start telling people and she said yes. We told some of our friends and family we wanted to get a picture with them but then surprised them with video taping their reaction of telling them you were coming. So you will get to see how excited everyone is to meet you!

Week 10

This week was filled with telling more people our big news. I ventured down to Lexington to tell my friends Ashley and Leah about our big news. I also had lots of dinner and lunch dates to tell my friends, it was so fun to see their faces. I still feel about the same, food is not appealing but still able to eat every meal. I think I might be showing a little bit but maybe I'm just bloated lol

Week 11

Feel about the same. Still icky but told our YL friends the news :)

Week 12

Went to the doctor, heart rate 157 last time we heard it it was 140. Also went on your first fall weekend. Still feel kinda icky but glad it is not awful. Excited to see our families over thanksgiving.

Week 13

Itty bitty there were lots of celebrations and traditions now that the Holidays are in full swing. Mommy had lots of goodies on Thanksgiving and didn't feel bad after she was eating them. I really wanted mashed potatoes and they really hit the spot. This week you also participated in your first cutting down of a Christmas tree. Every year we venture an hour away to get a real tree and make our house smell like a mini forest. We also had friendsgiving and got to see some friends we don't usually see that often. Everyone is excited that you are on the way and can't wait to meet you in June. Food is still kind of icky but I'm almost out of my first trimester so I am hoping it will get better after that. Little one mommy and daddy can't wait to meet you!

Week 14

I'm still not to my normal self with food but it is starting to get better. I am also starting to feel like my stomach is making room for itty bitty. It seems like I need to constantly be stretching my stomach because it feels so tight. I seeing a bump but most people are not able to tell. I am also starting to feel a little more sappy (which Kyle would say is nothing new) but it is mostly when I see a tear jerker commercial or news story I can't help but let a few tears out. Christmas party with friends was fun.

Week 15
Nothing too exciting. The basement is finished! Now we can move on to new things, like getting our place
ready for your arrival. Food is still not tasting how it use to. We had P F Changs and it made me feel gross
afterward. Hopefully this too will be coming to an end, I keep getting nervous that something is not right. I'm not sure how to gauge how big I am supposed to be at this stage but I'll wait for my doctors to tell me if
something is not right. We slept in a lot this weekend which has been nice :)

Week 16

Nothing too exciting. Food is still not tasting how it use to. Hopefully this too will be coming to an end, I
keep getting nervous that something is not right. Have a doctors appt on Wednesday where we heard the
heart beat was157.
Week 17

Highlights: *Celebrated New Years-but could not stay up until midnight and slept in because 2013 will not be filled with a year of sleeping in\*Timmy and Sarah got engaged :) *Still feel about the same. If this little baby is a boy I am "making them proud" with my bodily functions
(burping and farting) but if this baby is a girl she is not helping me with keeping my manners. Was really busy with work, kinda felt shaky after I had talked for a little bit.
*Got a free flat screen TV :)

Week 18

Still feeling kinda not myself after I eat. and am really tired. At 7:00 I hit a wall and start to fall asleep on the couch. I'm not sure what is happening, I have never felt this way before. I think I felt you move for the first
time but I'm not sure. I can't tell if it's you or my stomach being weird :)

Highlights:
*Went with A. Sarah to Bridal show. Celebrated Grandma Jackson and Great Grandma Edmisten's
Birthdays
*Started getting your room ready. Your room (the old office) is cleared out and we have a blank slate for
your room.
*Daddy started school

Week 19
Unseasonably warm so we took Bentley for a walk. You are kicking like crazy. I have been reading lots of
books to "prepare" for your arrival, mommy is not sure what to be do :)

Week 20

We got to see you this week itty bitty. Mommy and Daddy went for the big ultrasound so they could make
sure everything is on track with your growth and development. The first thing the tech showed us was your
face and your little lips, to be honest we had no idea what we were looking at but then she showed us your
spine, legs, hands and we were able to tell what we were looking at :) It was really cool to see you in there
moving around but man you sure did not look comfortable. It was really surreal to see how big you have gotten and to see you moving around in there. Being new to becoming parents makes us maybe a little less informed than the "pros". I had no idea that from this ultrasound they would be able to tell
if you would have a greater risk of down syndrome, if your organs would be outside your body (which I had no idea that could be a possibility), if you had all your bones in your legs and arms, all your fingers and toes. I am in awe of everything they can tell and how God is forming you in my body. It is really hard to explain
until you actually experience it. We decided to not find out if you are a little bitty girl or boy so we will all be surprised in June :)
Little bit we are so excited that everything looks good and that you are growing more and more each time
we see you. Right now you growing how you should and are the size of a can of pop, cheers to that :) They
needed to get a certain angle of your heart but you would not move how they wanted so we are getting
another ultrasound on our next appointment, hooray we get to see you again :) Your heart rate was 160 this
time.
We also got three new leaders added to our YL team :) We hung out with family and then also worked on
your room :)

Week 21

Highlights:
*Leader Weekend
*Felt the baby kicking all the time, especially in the morning and at night. It is really fun knowing your okay
since I can feel you kick :)
*Starting to think about registering
*Wore maternity pants for the first time. Still getting use them, not really liking change. Got really
discouraged when I went shopping. My clothes are not fitting like they should and maternity clothes are also not fitting like they should since my bump is not huge (yet). Am torn since I need more clothes for work (borrowing some great ones from Carrie but need more) but do not want to spend lots of money and cannot find my size.

Week 22
Went with Aunt Carrie to look at babies things. It can get overwhelming trying to think about what we should buy and which products are best but have been getting lots of advice from people which is nice. Big news:
You have a place to sleep now! We bought your crib Monday night and your daddy, being the handy guy he is, put it together right when we got home. You will love how handy your dad is when it comes to putting
things together or making projects for school. Got to see some of the family and hang out with some friends. I am excited that your room is starting to come together and that it is really starting to look like a nursery.
Also, dates for your showers are set, yay for getting things you will need :)

Daddy putting your crib together. Don't worry Bentley is not sad you are coming, he always looks that
way :)
