Carew Tower Climb

On Sunday Kyle participated in the Carew Tower Fight for Air Climb. In his full gear he climbed 45 flights and a total of 804 steps to help raise money for the American Lung Association. The race is open to anyone but the second part of the day fire fighters from around Cincinnati participate in the climb. Kyle had never done anything like this before and though it was harder than he expected he wants to do it again next year!

Kyle's team name was "With Due Regard" If you're wondering what it means it's a term they use in the fire service that basically means you need to watch out. So basically Kyle's team was telling everyone they better watch out since there are so good :)

Clifford The Big Red Dog

Over the weekend our pup made a new friend. Our friends Brittany and David just got a precious little maltese puppy named Theo. I was a little apprehensive of Bentley meeting Theo at first since Theo is only eight weeks old and weighs one pound and Bentley is eighty five pounds. Bentley loves little dogs so I did not think he would not love Theo but I was worried he would accidently step on him and hurt him. Well I worried for no reason, Bentley was great! He sniffed violated poor Theo the whole time he was there but he was really good with him and after awhile was more into his bone than little Theo.

Theo looks like he could be Bentley's puppy. It was so fun they looked alike.

Poor Theo looks scared to death. He warmed up to Bentley after he realized the giant dog was not going to hurt him :)

Theo is the same size as Bentley's bone. He kinda looks like he could be one of Bentley's stuffed animals on the floor :)

Love is in the air

Our house has been looking cheerful the last few weeks.

Our table centerpiece was made of decorations I got from here. The plate was filled with candy, it's hard to keep from eating your centerpiece when it's edible :) These decorations were easy to make and only took maybe five minutes. The house is also decorated with mason jars inspired by these from pinterest. This past weekend we had a girl's sleep over at my co-leaders Audrey's house and I made these sweet treats.

Helping to Bring Home Baby Kersey

This past weekend I went to Lexington to hang out with some besties, Ashley and Leah, but also go to a fundraiser to Bring Home Baby Kersey. My sweet bible study leader, Sarah, from EKU is adopting a baby from Euthopia.I love any excuse to get dressed up and when it is for a good cause it makes it even better.

Before the fundraiser I got to relax, catch up, and laugh with my sweet friends. Ashley and I may have wasted some of our brain cells watching hours of the Kardashians but when it's raining the best idea is to watch people lives on TV and be thankful my life is not followed by cameras :)

Full Speed Ahead

I had mentioned that we started re-doing our basement and then it flooded a bunch of times and production was put on hold. Poor Kyle was bummed every time he went downstairs to see his unfinished basement and to know that he still had a lot of work to do. Now that Kyle has been out of school for a couple of months, Kyle and his dad have been tirelessly working on the basement. The basement is starting to look like...well a basement again. I even helped a little by helping paint the walls. Here is our progress so far, we {Kyle and his dad} still have more things to do but at least Kyle can play ping pong again :)

A close up of his work. I don't think crafty would be the right word to describe a guy who can make stuff but he impresses me with the things he is able to do :) He is super talented!
