 We will also be passing out candy for the first time at our house :) {fun fact: last Halloween we got the keys to our house!! Happy One Year House}

One final exciting thing...Kyle got a call last night from a Mom who wanted to know more about YL so her son could maybe start coming around {this is SUPER exciting news and a answered prayer! There have not been any guys coming around for a while and it has been really hard  on Kyle and Derek so were praying that the Lord is revealing some of his plan to us and this is the start of something new!!}

Jumpin Fences

My dear husband played an awful joke on me this weekend.

Here is the scene...I came home Friday night from an Oak Hills Football game. Last time I went to a football game by myself I had to park really far away so I told Kyle I was going to text him while walking to my car to make sure I got their okay. So I thought Kyle was being thoughtful by asking me where I was and if I made it home okay {he had alterior motives people}. I explained that I was painting my window {my first home DIY that I will share soon}. Kyle told me he was still working at Skyline and would not be home until 11:30 {I thought I had two hours before he would be home}. Kyle was actually on his way home...he came into the house did not say a word {he even changed and Bentley went up stairs with him, I did not hear him come in at all}.

Here comes his dirty trick he pulled on me, he turned off the lights in the basement. I was in the laundry room and did not notice the light was turned off until Bentley walks in and I turn around to see what he is doing. At first I thought this is weird why is the light out.....so I'm standing in the basement honestly thinking someone is in our house {kyle accidentally left the garage door open when he left for work about a month ago and I came home from school and thought someone was in the house. So I have been a little leery ever since} As I'm standing their I hear the laundry shoot start squeaking {yes, it's really cool we have a laundry shoot. Kyle had put his clothes in their so that is why it was squeaking}. I instantly turn around, grab my cell phone and run out the basement door. I look at the front of the house and see that the living room light is off {I knew I turned that on so I jump over the fence in sheer terror that someone is coming after me! {Yes, I jumped over our fence} I run to the front of the house only to see my dear husbands black truck in our driveway! I was literally shaking and getting ready to cry because I really thought someone was in our house. I texted Kyle and told him I hated him. He finally picked up his phone and I told him I was in front of the house and he started laughing so hard! Bentley is sitting by the fence wondering why I jumped over the fence and was running like a crazy person. Kyle asks me " Why didn't you take Bentley" My response "Are you kidding me?! I thought someone was coming after me! Bentley can fend for himself" Kyle said he won't do it again...because I really was terrified.

Of course the next day, Kyle was working all day and a sales person knocks on our door at 7 o' clock on a Saturday night selling cleaning supplies {really? who goes door to door on a Saturday night}. I did not hear him knock and I'm walking up the stairs from the basement and hear the screen door shut {I instantly thought someone was in our house again} I opened the door only to find a man who the first thing he said to me was "Are your parents home?" I told him this was my house and I think he was a little embarrassed. Next time I will tell a sales person my parents are not home so I won't have to hear their sales pitch.

Sunday night I come home to find our basement door open and Kyle over and Petey's house {Bentley does not like to come in sometimes so Kyle left it open for him to come in while he went over to Petey's} I told one of my friends that I think Kyle is trying to kill me {not literally of course} But he sure is making me freak out that someone is in our house.


So my weekend was filled with me being scared a lot {looking back I can laugh at me jumping the fence, I'm really glad none of our neighbors saw me do that!}

Pumpkin Extravaganza

This weekend will be filled with lots and lots of pumpkins :) My momma and I will be venturing to Centerville Ohio for their Annual Pumpkin Show.

The largest pumpkin this year is 1,622 pounds!! I'm really excited to spend the day with my mom and to see all kinds of pumpkins, crafts, and eat delicious food.

I will also be hanging out with this friend and carving pumpkins.

I'm SUPER excited, i-can-hardly-stand-it, to carve pumpkins and enjoy the fall weather. I might try this {which happens to also be my new last initial} that I saw over at Kari's blog.

SUR-PRISE

Meet Petey: One of Kyle's best guy friends, his best man in the wedding and he also lives two houses down from us {kyle jokes this is where he will go when I'm mad at him}

Petey has decided to give us a very unique, super meaningful, thoughtful wedding gift! Since we came back from our honeymoon Petey talked about his plan and we picked a weekend. I have known about this for almost TWO MONTHS and have not let out one little peep to Kyle.

This is his gift: For the past two years Kyle and Petey have gone on a golf trip the first weekend of August but with the wedding this year they decided not to. Petey is going to take Kyle on a mini golf trip this weekend so they can go on their golf trip this year, thoughtful right! {Fun Fact: This is the second time Petey and I have planned a secret golf trip for him and Kyle} As for my part of our gift, Petey gave me money so I could go visit these two friends!! Meet Ashley and Leah, my friends from the south :), with their southern accents, who I met at EKU and were two of my bridesmaid.

I am going to hang out with these two friends, laugh a lot, make delicious food, laugh some more and go to Keeneland.

We have been married for two months!! I know, this is nothing to really celebrate but I want to remember what our first year of marriage was like. I want to remember what it was like living with a boy {i mean man :)}, how we have grown and become less selfish, how we have seen God in our marriage, working on our communication, and the other fun, unexpected things that will happen in our marriage.

This month we celebrated my birthday, we were both sick, and I was super consumed with school. Kyle always does a great job surprising me for my birthday! I love that he never lets me know what he bought me and likes to tease me by telling me he has no idea what he should get me and to just tell him what to buy. My response "You will figure it out. You have known me for how long...I'm sure you will come up with something" This year was no let down, he got me real diamond earring {no more claire, make my ears itch and sore fake diamond earrings for me} I was SHOCKED! We once had a conversation about him buying me earring it went like this:

Kyle: Jenny do you know how much diamond earrings cost?!
Jenny: No, I would just like some so my ears won't get infected anymore.
Kyle: They are EXPENSIVE, more than the journey necklace and I told you I'm not buying you jewelery anymore because you lose it {this is not true, but the story will be shared another time :)}
Jenny: I had no idea they were soo expensive! {In my head I thought I would never get them because they were so expensive and Kyle usually does not do things he says he's not going to}

We were also sick this past month. I had a good ole cold: sore throat, cough, runny nose, etc. Kyle had a major headache and woke up in the middle of the night with the room spinning and feeling really dizzy. They both did not last for more than a few days but it was different living with each other being sick. We have been sick while we were dating but we would leave each other houses early or not come over when we were sick. But now that we live in the same place our only choice was to be with each other when we were sick. Kyle was working the day I was sick and honestly the only place I wanted to be was my bedroom at my parents house and for my mommy to take care of me. I did not go to my parents but I was tempted. When Kyle was sick he texted his mom and told her about being sick. It's really funny to me that we still want our mom's to take care of us! It is something that we are going to have to work on, being unselfish and relying on each other and not others to take care of us. I'm sure as time goes on we will not call our moms first but it's hard when they have taken care of us for so long.

Update: My sleepy little eyes have gotten better, sharing a bed has become easier!! We only wake up once a night now usually instead of two or three times :)

A weekend filled with R's

1. Rest and Relax. I am finally done with my awful Thursday class {you won't hear me complain talk about that class anymore :)} I plan on doing none of my other homework {a rebel I know ;)} and hopefully taking a nap or just relaxing on the couch for a little bit {maybe with my hubby :)}

{i hope bentley wants to chill with me like this dog is doing, except he'll be on the floor...sorry bud the couch is for me}

2. Relationships. School work has taken up a lot of my time lately so this weekend I finally have time to hang out with some of my friends {sorry I have not been able to lately!!}

I am going to hang out with my sister-in-law and super pregnant, really to pop any minute friend Carrie!

{O friend it feels like a long time since it has been just me and you hanging out...I'm really EXCITED for this}

3. Rainbow Cupcakes. Saturday I am going to help my friend Theresa. Fun Fact: Theresa was my YL leader, we led together for 2 years at Wyoming High School and she was the reader in our wedding. I have gotten closer to Theresa over these past couple of years and now I do not get to see her as often since we lead at different schools. I will be helping her make rainbow cupcakes her for son's, Tyler, 2nd birthday party{he's super cute and growing up so fast :)}.

4. Running. Since my weekends have mostly been filled with hw I want to buy some items for our house with the gift cards we still have from the wedding. Some couch covers or sweeper may be added to our household :)

This is how school makes me feel....

Like my nephew, I just want to scream and cry because of all the homework I have to do this weekend! I am taking an accelerated class that ends on Thursday but this weekend will be filled with writing an 8 page SINGLE spaced  paper and working on a presentation with another classmate that entails a 20 min power point, 3 page paper single spaced, and 1 page handout for everyone in class. But..after Thursday I will be will DONE with this class!! So I'll suck it up but of course I am missing out on all kinds of fun things this weekend!
