Wishin and Hopin

And lots of praying but my dear friend is ENGAGED! Brittany and David got engaged on May 21st after Sunday night church service. My bestie is SUPER excited and I am THRILLED to help her plan and be one of her maids-of-honor along with David's sister{or is it suppose to be Matron since I'm married, I never know the right terms}.



It may look like Brittany and Leah were about to duke it out for the bouquet but I'm pretty sure Leah did not really want it

 Brittany I am beyond excited for you!! I cannot wait to make pretty things for your wedding, plan showers and a bachelorette party and see you walk down the isle in a beautiful dress! The fall will be here before you know it!



Reason 1,100,088 Why I Love Kyle

It is a known fact that Kyle LOVES music. On a typical warm day you will see a black F-150 on the streets of Cincinnati with the windows down, sun roof open, and Kyle jammin to his music. Right now he is in a country phase, his southern accent is funny sometimes :). Kyle is so funny to drive behind because he is out-of-control with his singing. His hands are out the window, banging on fake drums, singing at the top of his lungs{sometimes} all while going down the highway! Now I have always known this about Kyle and it is one of the things I love about him but recently he has been cracking me up with not remembering the lines to songs. He is usually great about knowing all the words, but he has lost his mojo a little bit and is forgetting the words more than usual{especially to older songs}. I love it when he starts singing, messes up the words, and then looks at me to see if I noticed. I instantly start laughing because he will be so into a song and then say the wrong words :) Needless to say, our car rides are interesting!

Tomorrow will be nine months, the time has gone by quickly! This picture is us at our Rehearsal dinner which also happened to be Friday the 13th {I do not believe in all the goofy stuff about this certain day}. The Lord is starting to change our hearts about certain things and I am excited about letting him take control of all the aspects of our marriage and lives. In theory it sounds really easy to let God do everything {that's what he wants to do} but it's much harder to not worry about anything {Phil 4:6}, to let him take control of everything including simple things for us like food and clothes {Matthew 6:25-26}, I want to be content with what he has given me since it is more than I could ask for or know I needed {Phil 4:11-13}. I pray that the change will be heavy on our hearts so that we will continue to do it.

In February I made this pretty wreath, similar to this one

 We had our ugly tree in the backyard cut down for cheap! TIM-BER

 I got tired of looking at this boring bulletin board. I bought some fabric so now it has some color :)

 Kyle lets Bentley up on the guest bed{when he's in there}. The only place in the house he is allowed on the furniture.

 I made this dessert for Easter. It was SO good, a keeper forsure. Instead of making the crust I bought one :)

 We saw one of our nephews Easter Egg hunt

 And celebrate by eating a blue cupcake, precious :)

Kyle said our house looked like Valentine's Day with all the decorations. I loved all the pretty colors and did not want to take them down :)

A lot can change in a year

A year ago I was leading at Wyoming High School with Ed &Theresa {with Tyler}, Matt, James, Ian & Allie, & Danielle.

Now Team Wyoming has Ed & Theresa {with Tyler and baby Alex}, Jenelle and Sam {sorry no picture}

Team Oak Hills was Mike, Allison, Beth, Derek, & Kyle 

Now Team Oak Hills is Me, Derek, Kyle, & Matt

I want to look back and see how the Lord has been working in the ministry of YL in our area. God calls people to other ministries and it is always sad to see them leave but encouraging to see them go where the Lord calls them.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" Jeremiah 29:11

**I meant to post this a long time ago {like when new leaders got placed in February} but better late than never :)

An addition to the cave

Before the "man cave" went under construction Kyle made this

He got inspiration from a ping pong table he saw painted with UC colors and decided to do UK on his. He brought a UK flag to Home Depot so they could match the color. Traced the UK logo on paper, cut it out, taped it on the table, and then painted it the colors.

He was REAL excited to show all his friends! I think it turned out great! I love that both Kyle and I like to make things. I tried to google what something like this would cost but could not find anything close to looking like this.

For a little bit of paint and patience, Kyle has a ping pong table that he loves :)
