Will you be my bridesmaid?

After Ava was born I asked Sarah to drive me to an appointment for Ava and Sarah surprised me with a cute little box that had a delicious cupcake in it and asked me to be part of her and Timmy's wedding! I could not be more honored to be part of the wedding and Kyle and I are so thankful to have them in our family's life. Kyle is Timmy's best man and it is so fun when we get to spend time with Timmy and Sarah. They are so easy going and it is an absolute joy to spend time with them. God is doing awesome things in their lives and I am so thankful that we get to see first hand all he is doing.

I cannot wait to make all kinds of pinterest ideas for the wedding and enjoy all the wedding festivities that will be happening in this next year.

Only 364 days left until Timmy and Sarah are Mr. and Mrs. :)

My favorite wedding idea

I had mentioned that we did a Time Capsule for our wedding. Guests could write their predictions for 1,5,15, and 25 years from now and we will read them on our anniversaries. Kyle and I read the predictions for our one year anniversary and I kept thinking what a great idea this is! I love that we will be able to look back at the well wishes from our friends and family and get to see if there predictions are right.

"The University of Kentucky Wildcats will have won the National Championship! Both of you will still be celebrating the victory and our Eight national titles, even though it will be August 2011. You two will also hang out with myself and Kelly, and we will all three revel in the glory of Big Blue Nation. Congratulations and be prepared to celebrate in the future. The only true UK fan here"-Zach Mullen {He loves UK bb like Kyle, this one made us laugh}

Kyle was laughing really hard during this one since he has so many inside jokes with them}

Our DIY Wedding: Thank-you

I love VistaPrint. We got 100 of these postcard  for $12.00. We used these for wedding showers and wedding presents. Postcards were great instead of regular thank you cards because they saved on postage and there is less space to write :)

 To thank the YL girls for helping at the wedding, I painted jars with chalkboard paint and filled them with candy.

Our DIY Wedding: Bridesmaid Gifts

I wanted to give my friends something special for being part of our special day. They turned out better than I thought!

I wrote all of them a note and included a note they had wrote me years ago

They got bridal survival kits for the wedding. I found this idea at a wedding blog

I made these cluthes found here. These were easy to make and had a Vera Bradley license holder inside.



Our DIY Wedding: Favors

We had a candy bar for our guests to stuff bags full of candy :) I think they enjoyed their sweet treats.

 We had sweet girls from YL help us, they were so much help!!

Our DIY Wedding: Let them eat cupcakes

 The wedding cake was not high on our list so I decided to make cupcakes and the UK groom cake. The cupcakes did save us lots of money, tasted good, but they were not decorated that great {I'm no professional baker :)}.

I borrowed the cake tower from my sister-in-law and used this to have the pillars go with the lace theme.

I bought a UK bake pan to make the grooms cake. We did a trial run in February while Kyle was at the Final Four. Here is what we learned: store bought frosting worked better than buying bakery butter creme frosting, use gel food coloring to get the UK blue color not food coloring in a bottle.

 Everyone in the wedding party had a jersey of their favorite college basketball team with their last name on the back on the jersey. I googled each college team to get the right jersey to make.

The UK cake did not turn out as good as I would have liked, but I was glad I did it.

This is what my computer room looked like when I was making all of these decorations, beautiful chaos :)

I scanned pictures of us through the years and glued them on to 11 x 17 card stock paper that I decorated with scrapbook paper. The inspiration came from here.

 I found this idea from Martha. They were our engagement pictures and also pictures of my brothers, Kyle's sister and our parents wedding pictures.

 These were for our table numbers. We went to our favorite places with a blank piece of 11 x 17 paper and then when I printed them I put the table number on the white box.
