Addicted and I just can't get enough

It's a known fact that I like trying new recipes but the hard part is having an event to go to that people will be able to eat the sweet treats I make. Since Kyle does not like sweets and I don't need to eat 24 cupcakes all by myself I have used YL as my way to try new things and high school kids will eat anything if it's free ;) I made these cupcakes and they were actually pretty good. I'm not sure if they are really 100 calories each but I'll go with it.

One of my favorite sites to check out daily is Money Saving Mom. I may not be a mom but I love saving money and this site offers all kinds of deals for great stores and shows you how you can use coupons to get cheap stuff. I especially like it for the free samples that they show. I have just started to get some of the free samples I registered for and it's fun to get something in the mail that I can try. I have gotten free things like magazines, detergent, face wash, coffee, and many other things that will be a surprise to me when they show up in my mailbox and I forget that I signed up to get a free one. Even if I don't want the free item I know I can give it to someone I know that likes it, if it's free why not try it out :)

My friend Sarah turned 21 this weekend and I made her a cute vase to get her ready for her soon-to-be classroom. Sarah will be a Senior next year at Miami and she is will be a Miss Math Teacher before she knows it :) Here is the final product

Love is in the air

Our house has been looking cheerful the last few weeks.

Our table centerpiece was made of decorations I got from here. The plate was filled with candy, it's hard to keep from eating your centerpiece when it's edible :) These decorations were easy to make and only took maybe five minutes. The house is also decorated with mason jars inspired by these from pinterest. This past weekend we had a girl's sleep over at my co-leaders Audrey's house and I made these sweet treats.

Our DIY Wedding: Reception {The Tables}

I had fun making all the DIY decorations for the reception

This is what my computer room looked like when I was making all of these decorations, beautiful chaos :)

I scanned pictures of us through the years and glued them on to 11 x 17 card stock paper that I decorated with scrapbook paper. The inspiration came from here.

 I found this idea from Martha. They were our engagement pictures and also pictures of my brothers, Kyle's sister and our parents wedding pictures.

 These were for our table numbers. We went to our favorite places with a blank piece of 11 x 17 paper and then when I printed them I put the table number on the white box.

 We had a time capsule at the wedding. Guests could write their predictions for 1,5,15, and 25 years from now and we will read them on our anniversaries. The idea came from The DIY Bride Craft Countdown . I cannot wait to read some of them on Sunday :)

Our DIY Wedding: Flowers

My sister-in-law Cindy does a great job of making fake flowers look real. I did not really care if the flowers were real of fake so I choose with the inexpensive route of going fake. I showed Cindy a picture of what I wanted and she did a GREAT job of making them look beautiful. I bought all of our flowers at The Flower Factory {this is a great store that has more than just flowers but you have to be a member to go, luckily I know someone with a card} for a excellent price.

Here is how they turned out

Every bridesmaid had a charm on their bouquet. Ashley C had Paris, Brit had a cell phone, Leah a plane, Carrie a baby carriage, and Ashley B a peace bus. They all fit their personalities perfectly :)

The decorations

Can you tell anything different about these streamers? They are ruffled and two colors! The idea came from here. They took longer than I thought {since I'm not very good at sewing} but looked really cool. Not sure I will do them again though :)

The monkeys hanging from the streamers {and the other cut outs} came from my friend Theresa's cricut {she always tells me I should get one, but then I would not have any excuse to stop by ;)}

The Food

Strawberries stuffed with cheesecake! These were AMAZING! Super easy too. I did not have the tool she uses so I just cut the strawberries with a knife

These were suppose to be lions and monkeys. They were suppose to look like these {Jen they were harder than they looked :)} but we tried our best 

O how I love stripped straws now! They raised the price a little since my friend Jen bought them {now 8 cents a piece :)} but they are still a killer deal. Thanks for sharing Jen!!

The Games

 I love games that are sentimental. Kyle's answers were priceless, the Campbell's love UC and the Crofford's love UK.

Ryan loves Star Wars so when I saw this cute idea I knew I had to do it.

The Gifts

I used this tutorial and this one for these cute onesies! Since I am not very experienced in sewing, I sewed some of them {well really Connie did it :)} and then ironed on the other ones.

This idea came from here. I cut the letters out of UC fabric {1/8 yard would be plenty} and then glued them onto grey card stock paper, it turned out better than I thought :)

Going to a Grad party?

If you are, you should make one of these EASY gift card holders. The only thing I did was make a tag that had 2011 since the template found here said 2010.
