"I Knew What I Was Getting Into"

This past weekend was YL leader weekend where over 1,000 leaders, staff, committee, and YL families gathered at Great Wolf Lodge for a great weekend of encouragement from the body in doing a ministry we all love. The speaker shared this song, it is really one of my FAVORITE songs now. It is a BEAUTIFUL picture of how the Lord loves us!! The title says it all, God knew what he was getting into when he told me to leave my mess of a life and follow him and knew that a would struggle and fail. This song also makes my heart break for our friends at Oak Hills, I pray they would know this is how God feels about them.

Note: The speaker told us we can get caught up in wanting to share this at campaigners and club and told us to really focus on the words ourselves before we share. But I really love this song and can't help but share :)

Our Shadow

Maybe we should have named our big pup Shadow, he always wants to be right where we are. For example, if I'm cooking or doing the dishes he will lay in the middle of the floor which makes it hard to get anything accomplished.  Also, I'm working on a valentine wreath for the door and he decided to start eating the yarn I was using, maybe he thought he was helping :) {I had to lure him with a treat to make him drop it}. Kyle is working on our basement and Bentley is no longer allowed down there because he is a dog vacuum cleaner and eats anything, literally {I woke up one morning to 7 screws/nails, a penny, and marble that Bentley had threw up {sorry for the vision} so needless to say he is banned from being down there {but surprisingly he was fine}!

I don't know what it is but I'm REALLY attached to Bentley...maybe it's because he's the first pet I have owned that I have taken sole responsibility for or because he keeps me company when Kyle is working. Not sure the exact reason but I really LOVE our pup {even when he is bad, which sometimes is pretty frequently}.

I guess he is not into organizing. He was my "helper" while I organized our computer room

Kyle & I have the privilege of being part of an AWESOME ministry called Young Life {YL}. YL is a non-denominational organization that shares God with kids in high school and middle school throughout the world. We have the honor of sharing with our friends at Oak Hills the great news that God loves them for who they are and wants a personal relationship with them. Kyle & I have done YL in different states, different areas, different schools, but since being married we have done it together, what a TREAT! While doing ministry is not always easy I have LOVED doing this together. I love seeing Kyle's heart for our friends at Oak Hills and how he wants their lives to be changed like ours have been. Kyle invited me to YL our Junior year when we started dating {he had accepted Christ at YL camp that past summer, I accepted Christ the next summer}. YL will always have a special place in our heart!

We do not know what the Lord has planned at Oak Hills but he does {Jeremiah 29:11}. We pray that he will make them visible to us and we will grab hold without fear or hesitation. What an opportunity we get to be part of God's plan, we have a wonderful, loving God we serve!

Who would of thought...two kids that barely knew each other when they were in 6th Grade

Would start dating their Junior Year

and Get Married

Six years ago Saturday I got a call from Kyle that I now know changed my life forever :) We were high school sweethearts, had a couple breakups, but then started dating again our freshman year of college.

Time really has flown by! Hard to believe that I would marry the boy who always wore UK shirts and dated all my friends in middle school :)

Rain drops keep falling on my head

Well...not really :) But if they did I would be prepared since I now own a pair of these

Owning a pair of these has become a must now that I have to let Bentley out in the rain and snow. I have always wanted a pair and am giddy to have some! They came in the mail yesterday and I walked around the house with them on for no reason, Kyle thinks I'm nuts :)

Bringing in the New Year Right

I am off work tomorrow, YAY!

This weekend I'm going to do some of my favorite things: a date, sleep, shopping, family, & friends :)

We got lots of gift cards for Christmas so Kyle and I are going on a date tonight. Nothing special but it will be fun to go out :)

SLEEP IN! O man I cannot wait! Besides having to let Bentley out a bunch of times I'm going to snuggle in my bed with the heated blanket and not get out :)

We have gift cards to a couple of stores and Kyle & I both desperately need some clothing items. Kyle needs socks and athletic shorts and I need jeans {why are they so hard to find?} Hopefully I will have luck finding these items :)

Friends: There will be lots of people over our house for our "After Christmas Party" I love being with my friends and can't wait to laugh and catch up!

Leah and Ashley {the two blonde's on the right side} are coming in! Weather permitting we are going to ice skate downtown but I LOVE when they come in and am super excited to catch up!

We will also be visiting with our families and having Bentley play with his other doggy friends, have a great one!
