Turkey time aka Kyle's favorite holiday

I am SUPER excited to have a FOUR DAY WEEKEND!! Tomorrow I will be watching Kyle play football with a bunch of his friends then traveling to see my brother and his family {my mom and dad will be there} and finally coming back to visit with Kyle's fam. They live about an hour apart and the meals start about the same time so I am going to have to rush my turkey eating at one place {this is where being able to travel like Sabrina the teenage witch with the snap of my finger would come in handy :)}

Friday I will be doing what most people dread...BLACK FRIDAY shopping. My mom and I will be going to Target. It really is not as bad as it seems. We have a game plan, we get their 15 min before they open and are in and out within an hour. I have never gotten anything big on Black Friday, like appliances or a TV, but if we ever do I would probably arrive at the store way early to make sure I got it.

Saturday we will be getting our Christmas tree :) It is a tradition with Kyle's family to cut down their own Christmas tree and then watch Christmas Vacation {they have memorized this movie, it is really funny when they quote it throughout the year}

Using my gift

The Lord blessed me with the gift of being organized. It just comes naturally, I like things to have a place {I don't think I'm OCD if it's not in the right spot} and to be labeled so it cuts down searching through piles of paper. This weekend I'm going to organize our filing box {we really need a filing cabinet!} and it will not be tedious or awful to do. I love being organized and glad that our house will be more organized.

I will also be getting a new car {fingers crossed}!! I was suppose to get a car Monday then Thursday but sadly I am still without a new one. I will post about this crazy story soon but I have four words DON'T BUY FROM CARMAX.

Thus, being a grown-up means we have to pay a heating bill. So to not go broke, we have to keep our house at a low temperature

I guess I will stuck it up {because I have to} and deal with the cold weather. I may not enjoy it, but I can look forward to these things happening because of the snow...

It was three months on Sunday. Since we have been married we have been working on our finances. Every time I think of money this song pops in my head. Since we dated for so long we knew what kind of spenders we are. Usually I would say that I am a saver and Kyle is a spender, but this is not usually a problem. We are learning how to balance our spending/saving since we now have to pay for grown-up things. I really think that our spending is not out-of-control and that we are living within our means, but we both would like to give more with our money. If I was being honest, I would say that giving our finances completely up to God is probably something we struggle with, but we want this to change. I don't think we treasure money but we do know that it gets us "stuff" and I think I have the mindset that if I give up that control I won't be able to get "stuff"  anymore.  Money is not something that we constantly worry about but I know if we do not give our finances to the Lord it will be something that consumes our minds and is something that stumbles us from keeping our focus on God.

At church on Sunday they talked about "Secrets to financial success" and one thing he mentioned is having money is not a problem but its "when money has you" their is a problem. Kyle & I are going to be making some changes in the way we spend/save our money in this upcoming year. We now have a better idea of what our monthly expenses are and will be able to figure out how much we can give, save, and spend.

The time has come

Isn't he cute?! Today Kyle starts back to school for his Paramedic. I could not be more proud of Kyle for going back to school and getting this! He will have to learn lots of medical terms that make my head hurt just thinking about them, but I know he will do great! He may not always love his job {who does} but I really believe this is a profession the Lord called him to do. His ability to make people feel comfortable in moments of trauma or embarrassment and his ability to make them laugh helps him display some of the many gifts the Lord has blessed him with. He also works with many men and women who do not know the Lord and the way Kyle displays himself at work shows them that their is something more that he is living for.The Lord will help Kyle through this busy next year of studying, tests, clinicals, stress, etc. and that God will get all the Glory when next November Kyle takes the test and passes with flying colors {yes babe, I really believe you will do great!!}

Babe, thank you for wanting to get your Paramedic not only for personal reasons but also to help make more opportunities for us! I love you, will be praying for you, and am always cheering you on!

Tonight I will be going to Oak Hills for the Musical "Anything Goes". I will hopefully see Justine {an Oak Hills girl who I recently met and would love to get to know better}.

I will also see my nephew since my Mom is watching him while my brother and sister-in-law celebrate 10 years {Happy Anniversary}. We will also be going to a wedding for one of Kyle's family friends {the mom use to babysit Kyle and his siblings}.

Sunday will be filled with resting, relaxing, and going to a baby shower to Celebrate Caleb Stecher {that Mike's family is throwing}. It will be fun to see his cute little face and to see him get showered with more gifts :)

That's right...I'm going to my first AUCTION! My madre, Connie {Kyle's madre}, and I are going to an auction really close to where we live. I'm really excited to hopefully find a great deal or treasure :) I have been wanting to go to an auction for a really long time, I might become really giddy if I actually win something I bid on! {hopefully the man selling the items voice will not become annoying by the end of the night}

Saturday I am going to be hanging out with Brittany. It's really sad but I have not seen her since the wedding and we live probably 20 min away from each other!! It will be great to catch up with a bestie {I stole this term from you Jen}.
