Hollywood with a touch of twang

This past weekend Leah, Ashley, and I headed to Music City for a girls trip to the "crazy town full of neon dreams". It was a quick trip filled with shady hotels, seeing new sights, and catching up with a childhood friend. We went to Broadway street Friday night and got to see all the bars and hear lots of country music. It was a fun environment and it was a lot of fun to people watch. Saturday we took a tour of the Grand Ole Opry and then went shopping at Opry Mills. Grand Ole Opry was really great and it was cool to hear about all the history behind it.

*Leah saying she was going to be the ugly one because she did not bring cowboy boots or a dress like Ashley and I did {she was joking but the way she said it made us all laugh}

*Waiting half an hour to get our money back from our shaddy hotel that we were going to stay in but decided not to after it seemed like a bad area and the room was gross

*Getting half way to Broadway street and then turning back because Leah realized she did not have her ID after she had told us to make sure we had ours

*Leah being fascinated with the sting rays at the restaurant and saying she wanted one for a pet

*Catching up with a childhood friend I had not seen in over 10 years

*  Leah being a super shopper :) 

I had such a great time hanging out my friends, catching up on our lives, laughing about the crazy things we do and getting to go to a new place

Fishin and Felons

I just sucked you into reading with that intriguing title didn't I ;) A couple of weekends ago we headed to Lake Erie with Kyle's family to go fishing but on the way we stop at shawshank prison. Shawshank Redemption is one of Kyle's favorite movies and he was really excited to see where they filmed the movie. Here are just a few of the many pictures Kyle took

A gem that will never be forgotten

O friends I experienced something I never hope to experience again. I was at a Family Dollar near our house and an intoxicated woman was on her cell phone talking about how she had to use the restroom. As I am checking out she said that she was going to go outside to pee but then said she was going to her car. All I kept thinking about was I hope she is not parked by my car. Well you guessed it, she was in the passenger side of her car, door open, peeing right next to my drivers side door! Of course the woman did not stop her cell phone conversation to pee outside her car because that would be silly of her. But the story gets better, this woman had a tampon on the ground that was now conviently by my car also, what is wrong with people!!

The lady finally gets done doing her business and looks up to tell me how she is really sorry and that she really had to go. My response was "this is my car" she then proceeds to tell me that I should have said to her "B**** move" while she was peeing so that I could have gotten into my car. This lady was crazy and it was only 5 o' clock. I stepped over her pee and drove away in shock that someone thought that was okay.

This lady was probably in her fourties who knew better and the kicker is there was probably a bathroom in the store but she decided to pee outside in broad day light instead. I think it is time to find another cheap place to buy Bentley's bones :)

But the funny thing is this is the second time I have seen a women peeing in public in the last month. The first time I was getting on the shuttle in the parking lot at work. A women squats next to a truck by a busy street and pees right in front of everyone on the shuttle. I can understand that sometimes you can't hold it but these people are not even trying to hide what they are doing.

I hope I don't encounter anyone else peeing in front of me and I'm begging people to start using the restroom :)

Two years ago today I walked down the aisle in my pretty white dress to the man I get to do life with. We get to share in the adventure of life and travel on the road that the Lord has planned for us. It is not always easy to love each other, to not have selfish desires and a me attitude but having Kyle by my side is something I do not want to take for granted. I love the way that I am able to see the Lord working in his life, bringing him back to a place where he can see the Lord working in his life and to see the purpose in the sometimes small and mundane things we do. We are a team and though we may not always be on the same page with everything we seek the Lord's wisdom on what lies ahead. Kyle, thanks for being someone who loves me for me and for the way I am able to feel God's love for me through you. I cannot express in words how much you mean to me! 

Makin' Waves and Catchin' Rays

Kyle and I went away for the weekend to celebrate our two year anniversary. We decided this year to go to Cave Run Lake for the weekend and bring our pup along too. This was the first time Bentley had been on a car ride for more than an hour and the first time we had taken a trip just the three of us. We stayed in a cabin five minutes from the lake and enjoyed a relaxing trip together with no agenda.

Some things I don't want to forget

*The three of us all in a canoe {I'm sure we were a sight for the locals} and we successfully did not tip!
*Spending quality time with Kyle with no distractions from home. We even took a nap Saturday after the lake
*Kyle making me promise that we will never go to a place where they don't say the name of their business when they answer the phone. Many times Kyle would look at me and wonder what we were getting into since people just answer the phone and say hello instead of the business they are working for. I kept telling him it was all a part of the adventure of going somewhere new :)

A few weeks ago Kyle turned 24 and I had a special surprise in store for him. He loves Jennifer Nettles and always talks about how he has two Jennifer's he loves. I like to make birthdays a big deal and want to spend a little more on gifts since we don't really buy each other gifts for the other things we celebrate together like anniversary's, christmas,...you get the idea. Kyle probably dreads opening his gift from me each year since there is usually something he has to figure out before he knows what his gift is and this year was no different. I like to be creative and to make him feel special on his birthday. This year I made Kyle a "Guess that tune" where I had four songs from the same artist on a sheet of paper with words missing from each song. He had to guess what the missing word was and then at the end guess who we were going to see. His reaction to the gift was priceless :)
